Some expenses are covered by my Korean friend that treats us! Thank you so much and also for your family. We also visited the places that don’t require us to pay so we saved a lot of money. So if you can save that much the other money left is for shopping!

TIPS

Buying of makeup and skincare products

If you’re into makeup, I’ll suggest you buy makeup products at the subway station it’s cheaper than in Myeongdong or any other shopping place in Seoul also Lotte mart in Seoul station they have many makeup products and skincare that buy one get one, plus a more free taste of food everywhere!

Buying clothes

I’ll suggest visiting Ehwa University to shopping for brand new clothes. You can have cheap find, trendy and vintage clothes there! Also, you can find street foods like the one in Myeongdong.

I also suggest Dongmyo if you are into thrifty stores. You can find clothes in there worth 1,000krw, some clothes there are not worn also with tags. You cannot haggle with the Ahjumma and Ahjussi because most of the prices are fixed plus many of them cannot speak in English. How can you haggle for the price of 1,000krw / $1?

There’s also a place in Dongmyo where you can buy cheap chocolates, candies, noodles, shades, etc. You just need to explore the area for cheap finds.

Myeongdong facts

I suggest you come to Myeongdong at night if you like to try every Korean street foods that you find in dramas. I don’t usually suggest to buy makeup and skincare product there because it’s expensive compare to the one that I suggested earlier. There’s also a lot of hidden restaurants in Myeongdong, we are not able to try to eat in restaurants there because we know that it’s expensive, we need to save more for shopping!!

Buying of pasalubong

There’s a lot of pasalubong or souvenirs in Bukchon Hanok village but many of them are expensive, you’re lucky if you get cheap souvenirs there (we are lucky because we went to every street in Bukchon village that’s why we bought some cheap souvenirs).

If you wanna have many varieties of souvenirs I suggest you come to Insadong. There’s a lot of souvenir stores there! They also sell hanbok and famous traditional stuff in Korea.

Buying Korean snacks for pasalubong?

The best place to go is in Lotte mart. I bought pasalubong in there and I have a chance to choose what size of the box should I put my stuff. Then I reuse it! I put some of the things that I bought in different areas in Seoul and just check in that box to the airport going back to Manila.

Thank you again for dropping by. I hope you all enjoy it and get some tips from me. You are all free and welcome to ask some questions.
